Barley VC Church of England First School

Welcome to the Barley school website and thank you for your interest in our school.  I hope you will find the website information useful. Barley is a Church of England school set in the heart of the village. Christian values underpin the education we provide and we endeavour to reach out into the local community and world wide to demonstrate our ethos of ‘Christian love in action’.  The school was originally built in 1895 and has been added to over time so that it can now accommodate three classes of children, which vary in size depending on intake.

As a small school we know the children in our care very well and so we are able to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to their individual needs. Consequently, the children enjoy learning and are happy at school enabling them to make good progress and achieve their full potential. If you are looking for a school or nursery place for your child, either as they begin their school career or moving into the area, we welcome visitors, especially during school hours, so that you can see the school ‘at work’.
