Welcome To Our Website

Welcome to the Barley school website and thank you for your interest in our school. Barley is a Church of England school set in the heart of the village. Christian values underpin the education we provide and we endeavour to reach out into the local community and world wide to demonstrate our ethos of ‘Christian love in action’.
At Barley School we have high expectations for all our pupils. As a small school we are able to personalise learning experiences to ensure all our pupils make good progress, achieve well and are happy at school. Our staff team is experienced but innovative ensuring that the education we deliver is of the highest standard.

Early Years

Our Early Years provision (awarded the 2013 Herts Quality Standard - updated 2014) caters for children aged from 3 onwards in a setting that is appropriate to their needs including a dedicated outside play area. If you are looking for provision for 2-3 year olds Barkway pre-school is a feeder school to Barley. Children born on or within the dates 1st September 2012 to 31st August 2013 are entitled to a free Nursery place for 15 hours per week from September 2016. We welcome visitors, especially during school hours, so that you can see the school ‘at work’. Please call Mrs Grinyer on 01763 848281 or simply 'knock on the front door'.
We look forward to meeting you.
